Falkland Isles

Evolve Energy has just increased its annual maintenance contract for the BEMS at the King Edward VII Hospital in Port Stanley, Falkland Isles.  A new winter maintenance visit has just been arranged to improve the control of facilities and energy expenditure.  Back in 2009, a specialist engineer who provides the BEMS service for the Falklands, identified the potential to reduce the energy consumption in the hospital; he then contacted the local engineering staff who assisted in implementing his ideas.

Upon returning earlier this year, for the annual summer BEMS service, the engineer was asked to look for new possibilities to help save more of the islands energy.  He recognised five other BEMS project opportunities including the Schools, Leisure Centre and the Town Hall.  The managers and officials of each of these buildings have been given a demonstration of how the BEMS in the Hospital helped improve comfort levels whilst achieving energy and cost savings over the last twelve months.  It was requested that the Evolve Energy engineer extended his stay to perform surveys to enable the project proposals to be established.  Having done this, he is flying back to the Falklands again from RAF Brize Norton in September to perform the new winter service and finalise these projects to save even more of the Falklands energy.
