Evolve provides TOTAL green solution
Major forecourt operator Total UK has completed an energy reduction scheme across 245 of its company-owned service stations.
The project, led by energy management experts Evolve Energy, has helped reduce the business’ annual carbon footprint by over 1,200 tonnes.
Evolve’s scheme saw a range of building management systems installed to regulate the amount of power supplied to equipment such as, heating, air conditioning, refrigerators and forecourt lighting .
The project also provided TOTAL service stations with smart meters, as well as a round-the-clock energy monitoring and call-out service to inspect any faulty equipment.
Through the data it collects, Evolve Energy are able to target where and how further savings can be made by TOTAL.
The business says that if just half of the UK’s 10,000 plus forecourt network were to adopt similar energy management schemes over 15,000 tonnes of carbon would be saved each year.
Evolve Energy delivers energy management services to a range of organisations from across the public and private sectors.
Neil Fright, managing director of Evolve Energy, said: “Like any retailer with a large estate and high energy consumption levels, many forecourt operators are looking to identify efficiency savings to reduce their operating costs”
“Through a combination of new technology, consultancy and monitoring there is enormous potential to reduce energy bills and carbon footprint within a relatively short timeframe.”
