Evolve Energy Sponsors BIFM Carbon Awareness Event

Evolve Energy Sponsors BIFM Carbon Awareness Event

Evolve Energy sponsored an event held this month by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) on how businesses can manage their energy consumption.

Named ‘Cash, kilowatts and carbon – drivers for change in our built environment’, the event was designed to give members across the facilities management (FM) community an insight into the issues and solutions surrounding energy management.

Held at the British Arab Commercial Bank headquarters in London, 80 guests from the FM, construction and property industries attended the presentation including Carillion, Kier and DTZ.

Energy services director at Evolve Energy, Tony Slade, delivered a speech on the importance of developing a clear carbon management strategy before businesses begin the process of trying to reduce their energy consumption, noting that many are often unaware of exactly where and how it is used.

Gareth Hollyman, head of operations at Jones Long La Salle also spoke at the event about where the responsibility of reducing a firm’s carbon footprint lies and whether the tenant, landlord, or facilities management team should be prioritising the issue.

The BIFM event is the first that Evolve Energy has sponsored and is part of the firm’s commitment to lowering business’ carbon emissions and increasing energy efficiencies.
